EXCURSION TO ALBACETE. 5º y 6º primary.

On April 22nd we went to Albacete. The pupils of the 3rd cycle of primary saw a fantastic play of theatre "Zombies don`t watch T.V." It was funny. After the play, we talked to the actors and we sang and danced one of the songs of the play. Then we went to the "Jardín botánico de Albacete" and we saw a lot of trees and plants. The monitor made us vaseline. Then we went walking to the park "La Pulgosa", we had lunch and had a good time. We came back San Clemente at 19:00.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY.

Today is 17th March. In Ireland, it is celebrated St. Patrick. Happy Day.
St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland and St. Patrick's Day falls on 17th March. Although originally a Catholic celebration, it has become more and more secular with parades, music and songs both in Ireland and in countries to which the Irish have emigrated.
I send to you interesting and funny links about the history of St. Patrick, the legend of Leprechauns, songs... in Oxford web page.

Leprechauns are little make-believe fairies that live in Ireland. They are the shoemakers for the fairies. The story is that if you catch one you can make him tell you where he hides his gold. No one has caught one yet....but start looking today!! Good luck!!

JANUARY 30th, The School Day of Peace and non Violence.

January 30th School Day of Peace and Non-Violence
The School Day of Peace and Non-Violence was first celebrated in 1964.
It emerged from Spanish professor Llorenc Vidal’s non-governmental, independent and volunteer pioneer initiative, Non-Violent and Peaceful Education. Its objective is to educate for and about tolerance, solidarity, agreement and respect for Human Rights, non-violence and peace. On this day, primary and secondary schools turn into instruments of peace and understanding among people of distinct occupations, races, cultures and religions.
The basic message of this day is: “Universal Love, Non-Violence and Peace.”
Furthermore, January 30th commemorates the death of the national and spiritual leader of India, Mahatma Gandhi, who was shot and killed by a fanatical Hindu on January 30th, 1948.

In 6th English class, we have worked "Imagine" by John Lennon, which is one the most beautiful and peaceful song of the world.
